The National Trust was initially founded in 1895 to preserve Sayes Court Garden in South London, but has grown to become one of the UK’s biggest landowners. Among its hundreds of properties are castles, stretches of countryside, historic cottages and cliffs, including its first clifftop, Dinas Oleu in Wales.’
