PicnicShop’s Perfect Picnic Pickings: Salad Days!

Hello PicnicShoppers!

Here at PicnicShop we reckon salads are the ideal out of doors tucker – light to transport, easy to assemble, they can be as substantial or delicate as you wish.’

In terms of a salad to accompany those cooked chicken legs, you couldn’t do better than taking a couple of fresh Little Gem lettuces and combining them with crushed walnuts, a lemon vinaigrette (lemon, olive oil and a dash of white wine vinegar with salt and pepper) and maybe a little goat’s cheese, crumbled.’

If you want to go filling, then maybe your own salade Nicoise. Take a broad leafed lettuce, add three or four hard boiled eggs, a couple of anchovies, some tinned tuna and a little mayonaise if you’re not on a diet, then combine with a classy vinaigrette, home made or shop bought, and you’re there. A buttered baguette would go well with this.

Check out the PicnicShop range of Coolbags, Flasks and Picnicware to make sure you get your salad to your picnic in good nick!

Enjoy your picnicking!
