This autumn's top 5 flasks

We wrote last week about how the summer weather seems to be hanging on, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the inevitable colder weather that is waiting just around the corner. This week, we're taking a look at our five favourite flasks currently on the market to help you get ready for those brisk afternoons outdoors this autumn.

So, in no particular order, here are our 5 top flasks:

Thermos Stainless King Flask

'24.99

This virtually indestructible 1.2L thermos flask from BHL is the perfect addition to any outdoor activity. From their 'Stainless King' range, this flask blends the latest in vacuum insulation technology with a classic style.

The convenient handle gives the flask that classic retro look and the functional twist and pour style means you can pour easily without having to unscrew the stopper. The double walled vacuum within this thermos is designed to keep drinks hot - or cold - for up to 24 hours and boasts a 50 year guarantee.

What's more, the Stainless King is currently 17% off ' so grab yours whilst stocks last.

Sigg Traveller Drinking Bottle

'8.90 - '138.40

The saying 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' comes to mind with this next suggestion' The SIGG brand is synonymous with hikers and campers the world over and whilst this classic hasn't changed much over the years, it still ranks as one of our favourite in this category.

Available in a range of sizes and colours, the SIGG bottle is lightweight and environmentally friendly. Each flask is extruded from a single piece of aluminium meaning it is both break and leak proof. The instantly recognisable screw top doubles up as a clasp for securing the flask to yourself or your bag with a caribina.

Bobble BPA-Free Water Bottle

'8.10

The 'Bobble' is perfect for those of us who like bottled water but can't help but feel guilty about the number of plastic bottles we throw away. Designed in the USA by Move Collective, the Bobble's carbon filter removes chlorine and organic contaminants from tap water, giving you effectively 150 litres of bottled-quality water for under '10.

The Bobble has a variety of coloured screw tops, allowing you to customise your bottle as well as easily replace the filter once it's lifecycle is over.

This suggestion made it on to the list due to its unique design, however it is not suitable for hot liquids!

Emsa SENATOR

'20.79

The SENATOR is an understated yet super durable flask from Emsa. It comes in to the mid-priced range at around '30 (although currently 31% off) but boasts being 100% leak-proof and has a SAFE LOC seal, not to mention a 5 year guarantee.

The 1 litre capacity SENATOR is a no-frills flask for the travelled hiker, camper or indeed picnicker. The lack of a handle lends itself to convenient packing than perhaps convenient pouring but the lid does have a neat little one handed opening system. And of course, the vacuum design helps to maintain the temperature of its contents for hours.

Aladdin 0.47 Litre Sustain Papillon Water Bottle

'6.99

Last on our list is the Aladdin Papillon water bottle; not least for it's price. At '6.99, it's the cheapest flask on our list but don't let that dissuade you.

At only 0.47 litres, the Aladdin is for one person rather than perhaps a family but its small size is to its advantage in many respects. The bottle is made from eCycle; Aladdin's award winning 100% recycled food grade polypropylene, which is FDA and EU compliant. The bottle is both dishwasher and microwave proof and is conveniently designed to fit into a standard car cup holder.
