Picnics in the Park at the Bermondsey Street Festival!

Bermondsey, London SE1, is a part of the city with many claims to fame. Turner painted The Fighting Temeraire here. Tony Blair and Bill Clinton dined at Le Pont de la Tour restaurant in '97. These days, the Bermondsey Street Festival turns Bermondsey Square and it's locale into something between a village f'te and a London Mardi Gras.

The brainchild of local DJ Rob Wray, it's organised by volunteers and is now in its seventh year. On September 21st you'll be able to enjoy an eclectic mix of fashion shows, live music, maypole dancing, arts and crafts - even a dog show.

There are also the obligatory food stalls. As you sashay between attractions you'll be able to pick up anything from Greek pastries to Thai satay sticks to add to your picnic. The best way to enjoy your festival picnic, of course, is to head for the landscaped Tanner Street Park. Spread a cloth, get out the vino and grub and tuck in. Bliss!

Check out the PicnicShop range of Festival Essentials and make sure you have everything you need for your next festival picnic!

Enjoy your picnicking!
